Danny Barnes, best known for his work as frontman of the Bad Livers, may well be the best banjo player working today. For his live CD, I worked closely with another graphic designer, Randi Bowker (of Lamar Advertising Nashville) -- who also designed the real-life "Grumpy's Bail Bonds" billboard featured on the back cover. We both followed the direction of the producer. Ms. Bowker did the initial layouts in Photoshop. I edited and finalized the photos (tree and hair-trimming, for example), imported the graphics into Quark, laid out all of the text, including the liner notes (which I also edited), and inserted the bar code in Quark, then finalized the designs for publishing.
